Household Income Across Hong Kong’s 18 Districts
In 2025, median monthly income among economically active households ranged from HK$34,000 in Kwun Tong and Kwai Tsing to HK$62,200 in Central and Western. Wan Chai followed at HK$60,000 and Sai Kung at HK$50,500, compared with a Hong Kong-wide median of HK$40,000. This map shows how household income varies across the city’s 18 districts.
The comparison draws on the Census and Statistics Department’s General Household Survey and covers households with at least one member, other than a foreign domestic helper, in the labour force. The figures measure income for the household as a whole. Differences in household size and the number of earners therefore matter when interpreting the district rankings.
